Students are encouraged to register for History, Economics or Political Science

Our students are encouraged to register for Degree Courses of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) because of three main reasons. First, IGNOU is a Central University with one of the best and most up-to-date syllabi in India. Second, it offers so much freedom to pursue other activities like coaching, a job etc. Third, it has, for our students, so many easily accessible study centres like St. Thomas College, Pala, Nirmala College, Thodupuzha, CMS College, Kottayam etc.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has been granted the authority to confer degrees by Clause 5(1)(iii) of the IGNOU Act 1985. IGNOU is also recognised as a Central University by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC). It is the only University to have the President of India as the Chancellor. The degrees granted by IGNOU are valid and recognized not only in India but also abroad. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognises IGNOU conferred degrees as on par with the degrees conferred by its members. Students can go on to do their PG, attempt NET etc. With an IGNOU degree, one can apply for exams conducted by UPSC, SSC, Bank/IBPS etc.
